i only very recently (and embarrassingly) realized that a tensor product of matrix vector spaces A ⊗ B is the space of matrices with size and scalars determined by B and entries determined by A. I knew it algebraically but not with this intuition. Pretty closely related to wreath products of the form S_n wr G.
