#ScribesAndMakers 9. Have you ever seen a photo that had a major impact on how you think about things/view the world?
as photography became ubiquitous, single images lost much of their power to awe or shock. most of the photographs i can think of that ascended to 'iconic' status are from a previous generation, before we were awash in images. now it seems the volume of images, rather than a single image, has more of an impact. i think this is a neutral change.
video, on the other hand, retains a lot of its shock value. the police execution of Eric Garner landed viscerally for me, and more broadly it galvanized a movement.
