I'm Jack's complete lack of surprise.
Payment Targets is objectively awesome and should have been celebrated by the "generic" or broad-based Nostr clients if the goal was to attract everybody. But the almost universal critical response hightlights the truth that Nostr is now really just about evangelizing Lightning and being a bitcointalk clone.
Fortunately, Nostr is an open protocol so anyone can make a agnostic zap client that uses Payment Targets. They'll probably be very successful.
Of course, I'll keep developing Nosmero as an unapologetic monero client in support of a monero commerce ecosystem 😀
