I got in a huge fight with my husband tonight and it's ruined my evening.

He is very strongly in support of GenAI/LLMs and I am extremely opposed to them. Our fight was about my heavy resistance to using them and my argument that they can't be trusted (Among other reasons) because they hallucinate and are wrong.

If I want to make good and avoid fighting in the future, I need to learn to see his side of things.

The ideals I need to learn and take away from this are:

1. GenAI hallucinates sometimes but not as often as people think. This can be mitigated by double checking and researching the answer. Using another LLM to double check is a valid method.

2. I need to stop resisting change in technology and in my field. By resisting AI as strongly as I do, I stand in the way of progress and put my job at risk. AI is here to stay and only becoming more integrated every day.

3. I can object to the ethics of using them, but that isn't an argument to stand on unless I accept that I'll fall behind in my field and am resisting technology for the sake of resisting. Being stubborn about change is bad.

I don't -want- to like AI, but I also understand that relationships are about compromise. I'll give GenAI a fair shot and integrate them into my life for the sake of this relationship.
