The first spoiler-free review of #Sectioin31 has popped up on Trek Core: https://blog.trekcore.com/2025/01/star-trek-section31-spoiler-free-review/

Now, I would normally set aside reviews until I've seen the thing in question. I consider reviews to be a source of insight to get others perspectives, versus a guide on what to watch.

But occasionally something looks like such a dumpster fire that I'm eager for some lifeline: tell me something is actually better than it looks.

Unfortunately, the review pretty much confirms everything the trailer seemed to suggest: a bizarre misfire. (It at least looks VISUALLY pretty, but high production values have never been this era's weakness.)

Siiiiigh.... at this point I'm just wondering if it's going to be better or worse than my current benchmark for my least favorite run of #StarTrek: Season 2 of 'Picard'.

It's already quite a bit shorter than that, so no matter how bad it truly is, at least I won't be investing 8-9 hours into it. :P
