It's shite for the artists too.
When 250 copies of my 3rd album came all with the same fault on the final 20s of side B, it was obvious a fault had been in the press all the way through. It took me several weeks to sort, sending back 10 randomly picked copies. They agreed to redo the vinyl but not the sleeves 🙄
Second press never left the factory. Faulty.
By the time the third press arrived it was past our slot for distribution, and we had to re-bag all the records ourselves.
