My dad just retired last summer from having worked on the Permian Basin for many years. (Mostly recently for George R Brown)
He said they couldn’t put up windmills because the price offered per kWH was too tiny to even break even. And the connectivity to the grid there 💩 But it’s old news — and been that way for at least the last decade.
West Texas has so much sunshine and wind it’s criminal.
However— in spite of that, the increase in wind power coming out of TX is encouraging
