I haven't really enjoyed programming for the last several years, and it's entirely because I've been so focused on cramming everything into the "portfolio-friendly" box. that means not using the tools I like and think are good (because lol, zero market value) and spending a lot of extra effort polishing things up and making them publicly available
I'm completely serious about walking away from the software industry. I'm sick of it, it's fucking gay and I hate 99% of the people in it. but something I didn't really anticipate is how much of a relief it would be to stop caring about whether or not my projects are appealing to the faggots in hiring positions, for the 1 in 10000 chance one of them ever actually looks at my portfolio
