Like, I know *why* they didn't, but I'd appreciate acknowledgement from whoever was the Manitoba Minister of Education in the 90s that children were intentionally taught a narrative that oversold the impressiveness of European "civilization" not only at the absolutely oppressive expense of First Nations societies, but every nation south of Egypt and east of the fertile crescent (and even those boundaries were redrawn after the Roman Empire (or rather their western wing, since we were told it fell in 476 despite the Byzantines)).
