I doubt the digitalisation has anything to do with it. It’s companies pursuing unrealistic profits and forgetting that putting the customer front and center is what makes “good service”.

I used to be able to see where a bus was, within meters, about 15 years ago. Now it’s impressive when the display at the bus stop is actually synchronised with reality at all.
