50/50 is maybe not the goal, but it should be fair. Prenups help a lot. Every couple has one, but not many actually draft it themselves, and a lot of couples are dually clueless about what kind of agreement their bound to 😔.
IME those that do agree to things before tying the knot tend to want to uphold the marriage more than those who just sign the dotted line on a state default contract.
