Flatpak is pretty great. There's this academic debate about keeping apps in sync with each other and fixing issues and whether it's wasteful, but then you use them and it's like, "awarawwfa this is actually great, am happi fox"

I switched over to Arch specifically because I got tired of waiting for apps to be updated on Debian and kept breaking things when I self-compiled versions with different dependencies.

Flatpak is the evolution of Arch in that regard - I just get stuff up-to-date.
