My stance has always been that well-written tags should provide marginal utility even without widespread adoption, and in fact, that’s their only chance of finding any traction in an open ecosystem.
That’s the underpinnings of progressive enhancement, which indie podcast apps have embraced. But the behemoths like Apple Podcasts have a higher bar for their UX. Instead of merely support the transcript tag as-is, they they built an sophisticated transcription pipeline that elegantly handles DAI.
