Ha! I see and you're absolutely right :)

What's interesting about Java IMO is that it may have seemed like a flash in the pan but it has a VERY long tail!

As recently as a couple years back I was helping my school teacher sister get a Java applet configured that she was using for a teaching course she was taking, and the applets just basically played audio and used the computer's mic!

Also? Java is one of those "cold, dark matter" programming languages. When I worked for Amazon, HUGE swaths, I mean HUGE of AWS are written in Java. It was as of a couple years ago when I left still far and away with most popular internal programming language for a host of adoption, support and tooling reasons.

And HELL I am *right his very moment* at work writing the Pulumi code to build the infrastructure to deploy Open Metadata, a server side Java application, to our freshly minted kubernetes cluster.
