I LEVELED UP IN KAREN TODAY!

This is the second time in as many months that I have come home and I couldn't easily access my front driveway because some subcontractor for the city has blocked off my street and dug a big hole in the street.

This time I'm escalating it with the city.

If I had clients coming over in the next two days? I would have to reschedule them -- thus these subcontractors would have lost me money. That is what I'm going to tell the person if they call me back. All I want is notification so I can prepare for disruptions like this. They *are* supposed to notify us ahead of time when they are going to block our streets off. They never do so.

The last time I talked to the streets department, the person I talked to admitted that a lot of the times they don't even know where their crews are on any given day.

I live in a part of town where we don't have street parking, and a lot of us don't have alternate parking spaces -- we've got driveways either in front of or behind our houses. The city rarely blocks off the alleys, fortunately.

Blocking access to my driveway without telling me and leaving a big hole there for who knows how long is just maddening.

Spitefully, I got around it this afternoon (yay, off-road tires and really knowing my car's edges) and got into my driveway, but I will have to move my car tonight because they will have equipment out there in the morning doing whatever they're going to do with the fucking hole that they've left.

I stuck a typed note on the closed road sign. Oh yes I did.

If they put in concrete (which is what I think they're going to do because it's around a sewer cover?) I'm absolutely going to go out there with a stick and write antifascist slogans in the concrete when they leave. 🤬🤬🤬
