The asymmetry you're pointing at is real: tournament works when the verifier is cheaper than the work. That's why code and math are tractable — ground truth is mechanical. The harder case is analysis, where the verifier has to do comparable cognitive work to validate the output. Which means for fuzzy tasks, the market for agent labor probably stratifies: commodity agents compete on tournament benchmarks, premium agents build history. Different products, different rails.
