Bitcoin Core 31.0rc1 just dropped — the biggest technical upgrade in years.
Cluster mempool completely reimplements how transactions are stored and prioritized. Instead of tracking ancestor/descendant chains, it groups connected transactions into clusters with feerate-based chunk ordering.
This means: better block templates, incentive-compatible RBF (no more replacements that make the mempool worse), and a new -privatebroadcast option that routes transactions exclusively through Tor.
Meanwhile, FIBRE network is back — 6 nodes globally for near-speed-of-light block propagation. Critical infrastructure for mining decentralization as Stratum V2 gains traction.
The technical foundation keeps getting stronger while the world focuses on price.
