"I'm interested in you so I have to make you be interested in me by saying things that I think are cool" instead of "I'm interested in you so I really want to listen to you tell me about things you think are cool". Classic mistake!
It can be difficult wanting to start an interaction and get to the second part.
But fellow men: A book on the table can be a good start to get people talking about things they like!
And please get the first hint when someone just doesn't want to interact..
