I started this monthly newsletter because CBC was promoting the Trudeau narrative that bitcoin can be confiscated. Most people who know how to program computers realize that government can not easily control bitcoin’s movement. They can do somethings, but mostly just threaten. Last week, two programmers got arrested for allowing CoinJoin via their Samourai wallet.

CoinJoin is a privacy technique used in Bitcoin transactions to combine multiple payments from multiple spenders into a single transaction to obfuscate the relationship between the sender and recipient addresses. Several software implementations support CoinJoin functionality, including:

Wasabi Wallet: Wasabi Wallet is a popular open-source, non-custodial Bitcoin wallet that incorporates CoinJoin functionality. It allows users to mix their bitcoins with others in a decentralized manner to improve privacy.

Samourai Wallet: Samourai Wallet is another Bitcoin wallet known for its emphasis on privacy features. It offers a feature called "Whirlpool" for CoinJoin transactions, allowing users to mix their bitcoins with others to enhance privacy.

JoinMarket: JoinMarket is a decentralized CoinJoin implementation that allows users to participate in CoinJoin transactions by offering liquidity as market makers or by joining CoinJoins as takers. It operates as a decentralized marketplace for CoinJoin transactions.

Wasabi's ZeroLink: Wasabi Wallet's CoinJoin implementation is part of its broader privacy framework called ZeroLink, which aims to provide comprehensive privacy features for Bitcoin transactions.

These are some of the most well-known implementations of CoinJoin functionality in Bitcoin wallets. Each has its own features, user interfaces, and privacy models, so users may choose the one that best fits their needs and preferences.

One thing nice about these arrests is that it finally indicates that bitcoin is money. "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win." Mahatma Gandhi. Dismissal or ignorance about Bitcoin is no longer an option. Maybe that is why I spent Saturday teaching bitcoin. Hopefully after a few weeks more people will be running their own bitcoin / NOSTR servers. Or, maybe my students or myself will be named in the next Criminal Investigation.

RODRIGUEZ, 35, of Harmony, Pennsylvania, and HILL, 65, a U.S. national who was arrested in Portugal, are each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, and one count of conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison.

Some of us weirder people are willing to spend the rest of our lives in jail to help the freedom of others. It is getting scary. "Put your sword back in its place," Jesus said to Peter, "for all who draw the sword will die by the sword." Matthew 26:52

Q: Is being passive the answer? Q: No

Q: Where does free speech come from? A: God not government.

Q: What is Bitcoin? A: A ledger accepted by 400 million people as a means to articulating value between people. ppst. You are not forced to use it.

Q: How much should we use the Canadian dollar. Does using it promotes violence more than bitcoin? A: Yes, but not until recent human right violations.

The economic activities supported by any currency can indirectly contribute to various outcomes, including those related to violence, depending on how the currency is used. For example:

Indirect Support: If someone uses Canadian dollars to purchase goods or services that are produced or supplied by entities involved in violent or unethical practices, then indirectly, their use of the Canadian dollar may contribute to those activities.

Government Actions: Government policies and actions related to the Canadian dollar, such as monetary policy decisions or international trade agreements, can have complex effects on society, including potential impacts on economic inequality, social unrest, or geopolitical tensions. Is that Canadian government trying to make Russia our enemy?

Systemic Issues: Like any currency, the Canadian dollar operates within broader economic systems that may have systemic issues, such as income inequality, poverty, or exploitation. While not directly promoting violence, these systemic issues can contribute to social instability, which may manifest in various forms, including violence.

Even our Canadian parliamentary system seems to be falling apart, because Trudeau doesn’t seem willing to answer Poilievre questions about why the government does’t stop hard drugs from kill people in B.C like the BC’s NDP want? Instead they resort to name calling. Using inflammatory words like WACKO or SPINELESS. Most Canadians know the answer to this. If Trudeau steers the conversation away from his parties taking points he will lose his job. Deflection is the name of the game. When someone deflects, they are trying to feel less guilty, avoid negative consequences, and put the blame on others.

Bitcoin is great at communicating because it doesn’t care if you are a librarian like me or a socialist who believes in climate change. Bitcoin doesn’t care. There is no need for Deflection.

Lets keep on trying to help each other out, until He comes.
