Setting up insurance for the new house.
Our current FL homeowners insurance is $18k a year. House and stuff, essentially. Does not include flood insurance.
We have discounts that bring that down to $8k for the coming year. (Which is $1k increase over last year).
We are moving to a blue state, (from a 5/3 to a 3/2) and full comparable coverage will cost us $819. FOR THE YEAR.
We could not afford to stay in FL as retirees.
Car insurance costs after lunch.
