In the 1980s, Buck set its sights on something new: the military.

With renewed U.S. defense efforts under President Reagan, Buck introduced the Model 184 BuckMaster in 1984, a rugged, hollow-handle survival knife aimed at elite units like Navy SEALs. But it was the pop culture explosion of Rambo that turned it into a hit.
