I get wanting to express your identity but marking your account as a bot is not the correct way to do it

when you mark you account as a "bot" you're marking it as an automated service which a) some clients ignore and 2) your account gets treated differently on some software

for instance, if someone hides "bot" accounts they won't ever see your account

maybe try putting something in your display name? I also know that sharkey (and probably other *key forks) has a big banner saying you're logged in as a bot which might get annoying.
