Not sure if people realize this: I have read some criticism that Russell Brand is not a journalist, that he doesn't bring new revelations like for example Julian Assange/Wikileaks does. That's true.
It is important to realize that Brand has quite an ability to identify and mock the twisted words that the media relies upon, and to pick the guests he interviews. He talks fast but is quite effective at emphasizing particular peculiarities or painpoints, and he can shut up for significant periods of time when the interviewee has a long/complicated story to tell.

Whatever you think of him, consider these properties, as these are by themselves quite rare, even if they're a different breed from what we're used to.
