"Users are leaving, and new users are not joining because we post about Bitcoin." I hate this argument.
Then why are users who are interested in Bitcoin leaving? You posting about Bitcoin is not the problem.
I think we already know the problem, and that problem is very well understood in the traditional social media space.
I think, The biggest problem when users join today is content discovery. It's way more complicated on nostr.
For new users, turning an empty home feed and spammy global feed into a decent, relatable feed without proper search feature is way more difficult. I have seen no new user doing it right in the first few days. Most of the users just give up. I have seen it again and again.
I know you are going to hate me for this, but the best reliable solution we have is to create a topic-based algorithmic feed. We have this feature already on Nostr, but it's not properly implemented.
Even as a regular nostr user I don't know how to discover content and people with specific interest. I think topic based feed will solve majority of problems including user discovery and make nostr much more fun. 🤙
