By this time of year most of my 5 year olds were reading.
One of their favorite games would be to look up words in the picture dictionary.
I would write a word on the whiteboard and they would get the picture dictionaries out and look the word up.
(if you’re playing this game, always make sure that the word that you’re writing on the board or a piece of paper actually has a picture next to it in the dictionary!)
