🚨 The Damus relay (relay.damus.io) is retiring at the end of July! 🚨
jb55 (npub1xts…kk5s) has announced he's retiring the ole gal. Here's what you need to do:
1. Update your Nostr profile and swap out relay.damus.io for healthy alternatives
2. Check your apps' hardcoded relays as many clients ship with it baked in
3. Vibe coders, listen up, if you're building Nostr apps with LLMs, check your default relays! Models love to default to relay.damus.io and relay.nostr.band.
⚠️ Remove relay.nostr.band too as it's been dead for over a year.
Good replacements: relay.ditto.pub, relay.primal.net, nos.lol, purplerelay.com if you like large public relays. Though, my recommendation would be to choose smaller, lesser known relays and Web-of-Trust relays. These will help with spam and decentralization.
Update your relay lists while you still can!
