I wrote yesterday about the likelihood that hundreds of millions of people — potentially billions — will be forced to migrate within the next few decades due to global heating.

At 2.7 degrees of warming, which is our present policy trajectory, two billion people will be exposed to extreme heat.

99.7% of those people live in the Global South. People who have done nothing to cause this crisis. The injustice is staggering.

Then Hickel posted two maps (below) that starkly illustrate the discrepancy between those nations who CAUSED the climate crisis and those who SUFFER from the climate crisis.

How can any business or political leader in the Global North sleep at night, or look at themselves in the mirror? They are monsters.
