Update on my complaint to Canberra Hospital re their failure to notify anyone of our friend's death: they called me today to say it had been documented in the notes that our friend didn't want anyone contacted (whether he meant WHILE he was dying or AFTER he died is unclear). Anyhow, that explains it... so I shall pull my pointy gnome in now.
