the elephant in the room with non-static sites is security. Keeping everything patched up and configured right is an ongoing burden and hosters are only going to do part of that for you.
That is, by definition, far less of a problem with static sites. I know some orgs that for this very reason run WP as a CMS internally and mirror only the deployed site outside to a static host. Which is probably the most complex option.
