Another issue is with being forced to put internal services out to tender.
The NHS is, by and large, staffed by people who want to do the best they can.
Private companies often have contract lawyers on retainer who are paid to be predatory and rapacious.
There's one private healthcare company that I won't name, who would ALWAYS sue if they didn't get awarded a contract. And the NHS simply doesn't have the resources to cope with that. Nor, IMO, should they need to.
