Emotional garbage.
Just watched a video from a free cleaning channel-- and he explained how bad the burnout is for nearly everyone in this work.
And no. NOT because any of the houses they cleaned got dirty again... but because of the relentless streams of EMOTIONAL garbage that get dumped on them every single damned day by the sorts of people who feel some malicious urge to sneer at them how those houses are just going to get dirty again, and how "lazy slobs" aren't worth helping.
Why is it, that being too depressed/hurt/etc to clean up your house, losing control of the situation and getting overwhelmed is stigmatized with RELENTLESS DISGUST...
But heaping emotional abuse on people who are already down, and further abusing anyone who actually tries to help them, is not infinitely worse? That shit can actually kill.
Anyone who actually enjoys cleaning, and feels the instinct to help others with this powerful mutual aid, is precious and glorious. Please uplift them, donate to them, and defend them.
Emotional garbage is incredibly toxic. If we figure out how to clean THAT up, the whole world can head in new directions.
