I'm at the age where educated people "crown their careers", as the Swedish expression goes, by becoming bosses of something or other.
Archaeology-adjacent boss jobs tend to be wildly unattractive admin positions. Sure, they're pretty well paid, but they don't involve doing any archaeology. So it doesn't bother me that my research background doesn't qualify me for those jobs.
My problem is that employers see me as over-qualified for jobs where you get to do anything fun.
