This is a weighty tome about a father with demonical powers and his son, on their escape from a cult that would condemn them both to death - all set in Argentinia during the 70s/80s military dictatorship. Before I read this book, I didn't know much about this period, so that facet of the story was quite informative for me. The atmosphere of the book is suppressive and haunting.
