I don't think nation states are the primary movers in all of this mess.

E.g. Americans are super upset about Israel "running" our govt, but it seems clear to me that it's the military industrial complex that has almost complete control over the lawmakers of both nations, such that the US is the money printer for the complex and Israel is a satellite that offers the opportunity to test military and surveillance tech (on Gaza, for instance).

That complex doesn't have national borders or loyalties, and I assume that much of the governing structure of Saudia Arabia is captured, or at least that the govt is aligned in some way with another supranational complex.
