It's interesting that Android implicitly assumes that "I should be sleeping" and "make the screen extra dim" are mutually exclusive.
Which is, of course, ironic: maybe if the screen was less bright when you needed to check it in the off hours, you'd be ... less likely to wake up more?
The missing option: "automatically enable Extra Dim when Bedtime Mode or Sleeping are active"
