"Ship and fix it later" has got to be the worst trends that came out of the reality of updateable software. Auto-update kills software quality in the long run because the responsibility for shipping working code trends to zero.
Not only that, but the responsibility to ensure working code does not subsequently break diminishes as well. In the end, you simply ship the minimum quality necessary at a faster and faster pace to maintain your user base.
