I have never taken to Discord. I think it's the lack of hierarchy to the posting. There's no distinction between initial thoughts and follow-up posts so when you're scanning a channel you are forced to wade through raw *chat*
I can see it working well for small groups of friends (but that's kinda what WhatsApp groups are for) but established groups of people you don't know are just unbearable.
