There’s a potential theory, which I accept may credit the police too much:
Could they be behaving like this to raise the profile of this particular ruling, to get the public mood to persuade the home office to revise their approach?
I can’t imagine the police are too keen on the law that requires them to arrest all these peaceful protesters…
