My first motivation when I started working on Open Source was listening to contributors full of ideas. That's the real engine. Fedilab actually got many built-in features before they became available on Mastodon itself (which created extra work later, syncing databases once they were officially added). But that's exactly what drives me. Not following a scheme, just following what you want to build. That's how I work on my projects, and I can't change that.
