I was there in 1974, 1989 and 1998, that was before the ugly cruisers came to the "Serenissima".
The most beautiful parts are those where the tourists usually don't go - as it is in all cities with overtourism.
I remember that people in Venice are extremely friendly although it must be hard to live under those conditions.
