The cult classic TV show Max Headroom predicted a future where a sort of media-centric corporate oligarchy would essentially be the government, with all of the wild inequality and horrific abuse of civil rights you might expect.
More recently, the Canadian sci-fi show Continuum envisioned a future where a high-tech "Corporate Congress" ran everything with the "City Protective Services" acting as their fascist enforcers.
