I think I rode on the Aldwych branch once, me and a school mate used to “trainspot” on the tube, just an excuse to ride round really. This was in the late 70s so long before Oyster. We’d get tickets from for instance Hammersmith to Elephant & Castle but go via Rayners Lane. Never got stopped but we’d have just claimed to be country bumpkins lost on the tube 😀😇
