It's too cold yet to plant outside where I am in Ontario, but in the spring the first #seeds to go in the ground, when there's still a chance of frost but the ground is dry enough to fork over, are radishes, lettuce, peas, swiss chard, arugula, onions and beets.

Beans, tomatoes, squash, cucumbers are planted at least a month later, but I get a good crop of these before fall. Tomatoes, peppers and brussell sprouts take too long, so I buy little plants or start them indoors.
