I've been thinking a *lot* about Musk's recent comment that empathy is a weakness in Western civilization. More time than I care to give Musk (which is "any") but it is just so telling and terrifying at the same time.
Empathy is one of the defining characteristics, one of the saving graces, of humanity. Empathy is something we should be learning to double down on, and try to champion, not stamp out.
We need to be more like Mr. Rogers, not like Musk and the MAGA crowd.
