I can't really speak to cachy specifically, but most of the custom kernels like liquorix, xanmod, zen, etc. offer lower latency rather than raw performance. I saw a benchmark a few months ago showing how the performance of all the major kernels is about the same depending on the workload, but I can't seem to find it right now :(
