On the airship, you can meet stories from all backgrounds. Like this pair of royal servants running some errand. One of them is actually a princess who blackmailed her way in. Well, technically, her position in the royal claim order is in double digits, but still. Lots of older siblings.
The royal court currently isolates itself in this country residence rather than the royal palace, since they all fled a highly contagious plague and are controlling the country by courier messengers only - like this duo right here.
Twist? The plague is long over, and low-ranking local officials are crafting a fictitious scenario to keep the royal family out of the way while they move to some more lower-class-friendly (hopefully) governance system. How did they achieve that? With help from someone in the royal family, of course! Who could it be now? The eldest daughter and first-in-line for the crown. Why? Daddy had her love interest sent to the dungeon, since "she can't lay with one of lesser blood" (and having him "concubines" and getting marriage only as a political tool is, of course, only the male dominion, duh). So she decided if the system is against her, she'll be against the system.
Now her plot is in jeopardy, because someone swapped the position of the messenger who was in on the cause. That could be a problem - has to be dealt with swiftly. Will our princess-messenger find out what's happening before she gets killed? Will she try to leverage that info to skip the queue, or will she help the plot? (The latter, probably - she likes the freedom without the court but still with the wealth she has.)
