I will say that as a Christian, I never once asked "why my dad" as far as his Alzheimer's. We live in a fallen world and awful things happen. And the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike.
However...as far as HUMANS go, Alzheimer's is a relatively blameless disease. We just don't know for certain what causes it, so we can't for certain avoid it.
But HIV is spread almost exclusively through male sodomy. It's entirely preventable. Yet we're all supposed to feel sorry for those who infect themselves while almost no one says a word about Alzheimer's, despite the fact that it affects far more people.
