Since baking or making ice cream is my current highest use for precious ingredients I decided to use this very generous gift from to make "maple garam masala" ice cream. The base is very promising tasting.

(First time I've bothered with a custard in at least six months, maybe more, I got out of the habit when eggs shot up in price and didn't get back to it even when they weren't eye-wateringly expensive, but this seemed worth the extra effort)
