I decline to use Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter or Bluesky and don't have any issue with refusing to do so. Using Signal is a compromise I'm willing to make, for now, precisely because it's easy to use for non expert users and already popular.
People I know are already fed up needing multiple apps to charge their EV's at different charging stations. We don't need the equivalent situation for messaging.
