People complaining about how the Greenland fiasco is, "Ruining the USA's reputation!" have never been outside the USA long enough to learn what our reputation *actually is*.

I am reminded of the time a Japanese #history professor bent my ear about Bush II's policies and how the USA was, and always had been, a colonial power for nearly an hour on a Shinkansen. All I could do was apologize and say, "I didn't vote for him," over and over.

(No, I didn't say, "But Manchuria." I was tempted.)
